4.2.6.2. Receive

In gigabit mode, the PCS and MAC functions must operate at the same rate. The receive converter transmits each byte from the PCS function once to the MAC function.

In 100 Mbps mode, the receive converter transmits one byte out of 10 bytes received from the PCS function to the MAC function. In 10 Mbps mode, the receive converter transmits one byte out of 100 bytes received from the PCS function to the MAC function.
