  • 1'b1: The PCS generates a proper fault sequence on the Ethernet link, if conditions are met.
  • 1'b0: The PCS does not generate any fault sequences.

Whether this bit has the value of 0 or 1, the RX PCS always reports real-time link status on the local_fault_status and remote_fault_status output signals and in the Local Fault Status register at offset 0x508.
