Why do I get intermittent M20K write failures in my Arria 10 design?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

    Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime software version 17.0 and earlier, you may see intermittent M20K write failures in your Arria® 10 design.

    The failures are characterized by

    •     Intermittent failures to write a zero
    •     Failures are not timing dependant
    •     Higher Vcc increases the rate of failures
    •     Higher temperature increases the rate of failures
    Resolution

    This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus® Prime Pro and Standard edition version 17.1
