What is the correct data rate range for VCCH_GXB = 1.5V in Stratix IV GX devices?

Environment

Description

Data range supported by the 1.5 VCCH_GXB has been increased up to 6.5 Gbps after further characterization.  The current Stratix® IV Handbook version 3.3 is out of date.  It states the data range as following:

VCCH_GXB = 1.4V or 1.5V for 600 Mbps < Data Rate . 4.25 Gbps

VCCH_GXB = 1.4V only for 4.25 Gbps < Data Rate . 8.5 Gbps

Pin Connection Guidelines (PCG) v1.3 has been updated with the correct information, as following:

VCCH_GXB = 1.4V or 1.5V for 600 Mbps < Data Rate . 6.5 Gbps

VCCH_GXB = 1.4V only for 6.5 Gbps < Data Rate . 8.5 Gbps

Following information will be updated in the future Stratix IV Device Handbook, according to the above enhancements:

1)       Vol2, pg 1-53, Transmitter Output Buffer section.
“With the 1.4 V and 1.5 V settings, you can run the transmitter channel from 600 Mbps to 8.5 Gbps and 600 Mbps to 4.25 Gbps”

2)       Vol2, pg 1-56, Programmable Transmitter Output Buffer Power (VCCH) section.
“with 1.5 V, the data rate range is 600 Mbps to 4.25 Gbps”

3)       Vol2, pg1-64, Table 1-13, Note (1)
“VCCH = 1.5 V can support data rates from 600 Mbps to 4250 Mbps. VCCH = 1.4 V can support data rates from 600 Mbps to 8500 Mbps.”

4)       Vol2, pg1-66, Table 1-15, Note (1)
“VCCH = 1.5 V can support data rates from 600 Mbps to 4250 Mbps. VCCH = 1.4 V can support data rates from 600 Mbps to 6375 Mbps.”

5)       Vol2, pg3-2, Transmit Buffer Voltage section
“Note that if you select the 1.5 V option for a transceiver instance, the data rate range of all the transceiver channels within a transceiver block is restricted to between 600 Mbps and 4.25 Gbps.”

5 -a) Vol2 chapter 3, transmitter buffer section -contains 4.25G as max data rate

6)       Vol3, pg1-15, Table 1-5
AUTO: The ALTGX MegaWizard™ Plug-In Manager automatically sets VCCH to 1.5 V for the effective data rates less than 4.25 Gbps. Or VCCH to 1.4 V for effective data rates greater than 4.25 Gbps.

7)       Vol3, pg1-57, Table 1-19
AUTO: The ALTGX MegaWizard Plug-In Manager automatically sets VCCH to 1.5 V for the effective data rates less than 4.25 Gbps. Or VCCH to 1.4 V for effective data rates greater than 4.25 Gbps.

8)       Vol4, pg1-5, Table 1-6
“VCCH_GXBL/R must be connected to a 1.4 V supply if the transmitter channel data rate > 4.25 Gbps. For data rates up to 4.25 Gbps, you can connect VCCH_GXBL/R to either 1.4 V or 1.5 V.”
