Why do I see zero value from chip_id[63..0] when reading the unique chip ID in Arria 10 devices?

Environment

  • Chip ID Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGA IP
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

During the initial production phase, some Arria® 10 devices did not go through the wafer sort process. Thus the unique chip ID was not programmed for these build lot devices and see you will see a  zero value from chip_id[63..0] when reading from the Arria 10 Unique Chip ID IP.

    Resolution

Even though these Arria 10 device are from a blind build lot, all the units are tested at final package level testing, thus they are all fully functional units.
