Can't Complete Windows* Update Due to Lack of Drive Space
What are you seeing?
There is not enough space on the pre-installed drive on the Intel® NUC Kit NUC5PGYH or NUC6CAYS to successfully perform a Windows® 10 Update.
How to fix it
Free up space on the drive with the following steps:
Delete files in the Windows Temp directory
- Press the Windows key and the letter R to open the Run prompt.
- Type %temp% then select OK to open the Temp folder in File Manager.
- From the Home tab on the Toolbar, click on Select All (to select all the files).
- Press the Delete key to delete the files. (you can choose to press Shift and the Delete button to permanently delete the files.)
- If you see a pop-up window saying the action can't be completed because the file is open, click Skip.
Perform a disk cleanup
- Press the Windows key and the letter R to open the Run prompt.
- Type Explorer select OK.
- In the Quick Access panel on the left, right-click on the C: drive and select Properties.
- Select Disk Cleanup.
- Click Cleanup System Files.
- Click Yes to confirm you want to cleanup the disk. It takes a few moments for Disk Cleanup to identify items that can be safely deleted.
- In the Files To Delete list, select the items to be deleted.
- Click OK.
Now try Windows Update again.
