Summary

How to use the MAC Address found in Intel® Ethernet Adapters for manufacturer identification/authenticity

Description

Need to find who the original equipment manufacturer is based on the Intel® Ethernet Adapter MAC Address?

Resolution

The "Serial Number is a combination of the MAC Address and Part Number”.  Hence, with the MAC Address alone, it is very difficult to determine if the Intel® Ethernet Adapter card is or not OEM.

Contact Support with the NIC identifying numbers (see also Identify Your Wired Intel® Ethernet Adapter and Driver Version), plus the Intel® System Support Utility (SSU) log report should further assistance be needed.
