Intel® Update Manager System Identifier
Intel® Update Manager creates an anonymous identifier on your system in order to identify the system to the Intel® Servers when checking for updates. The identifier, similar to a browser cookie, does not identify the user of the system and can be deleted at any time.

If you would like to delete the identifier on your machine, you can follow the steps below.

Deleting the Intel Update Manager System Identifier
Intel Update Manager stores its system identifier in the system's program data folder.

To delete the system identifier, follow these steps.

  1. Open Windows File Explorer (Windows Explorer in Windows 7*).
  2. Navigate to %ProgramData%\Intel\SharedData by typing the location in the address bar.
  3. Delete the file SDID by selecting it and pressing the delete key.
Note If the identifier is deleted and you continue to use Intel Update Manager, a new anonymous identifier will be created when Intel Update Manager connects to the servers.
