Smart Home Gateways (SPD/OIC)

The Intel® Puma™ 6 Smart Home Gateway intelligently connects smart appliances, sensors, and other connected systems in the home to the cloud to become the central hub of computing services for the smart home.
Smart City (Wind River) Smart infrastructure and critical infrastructure become more reliable, efficient, and secure with cloud-based intelligence. Wind River Helix provides end-to-end IoT solutions enabling customers to connect critical machines and devices to the cloud across the smart city.
Smart Tap (Kegerator) Demo  (OTC) The Smart Tap allows a smart device to take actions on simple IoT devices, such as an actuator, and retrieves attributes from IoT devices, such as sensors. OIC standard code for API calls can be employed by a generic app on phones and tablets. In this example, grouping is also included where music and lights are part of the experience. The beer country selected by the app user spawns that country’s flag and that country’s music.
Shoal Cube (OTC)

Shoal Cube shows use cases and abilities of the Minnow MAX board in a visually appealing fashion. The demo is comprised of a cube with four wall-mounted displays, each running a different operating system and technology showcase. The cube is mounted on a platform that can be rotated 360 degrees. A variety of OSs and workloads can be used to highlight more specific messages or features such as Android Lollipop (, Crosswalk Embedded (Emberwind Jump&Run), Fedora 21 (OpenCV Motion Detection), Ubuntu (OpenCV/OpenCL HD video playback with LED pulse light integration changing according to the primary color present in the video content) and Windows Embedded 8.1 Pro.

Smart Home (OTC)


The Open Interconnect Consortium will define connectivity requirements to ensure the interoperability of the more than 30B devices projected to come online by 2020. It is focused on delivering a specification, an open source implementation (IoTivity), and a certification program for wirelessly connecting devices. Key Themes: OIC/IoTivity, MinnowBoard MAX, Yocto, Edison.
