You can do the firmware update from the EFI shell or from the OS with some restrictions:
- You can do the firmware update from the EFI shell only if the Intel RAID Expander is connected to a MR Intel RAID Controller (See compatibility list above).
- You can do the firmware update from the OS with the Intel RAID Expander connected to any Intel RAID Controller or SAS adapter.
You can only do the CPLD code update from the OS (Windows* or Linux*).
Note: The software may contain open-source software. The associated open-source licenses are included with the driver package.
