Editor’s Pick: Transparency Best Practices for Cloud Providers
Cloud Security Alliance Launches Registry: Not a Moment Too Soon
The Cloud Security Alliance has taken an important step by launching a free, publicly available registry that documents the security controls for cloud offerings. The registry is intended to promote cloud provider transparency and help users evaluate the security provided by the cloud providers they use or are considering. The new initiative is called the CSA Security, Trust & Assurance Registry (STAR) and is open to all IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS providers and will be online in late 2011. The author also discusses the confusing landscape of cloud providers and the benefits to cloud providers who participate in the registry.
